Giangiacomo Ibba, 50, a large-scale retail entrepreneur from Oristano, is the only Sardinian among the 25 new Knights of Labor appointed by President Sergio Mattarella. He is president of F.lli Ibba, a family business founded in 1950 in Oristano for the wholesale distribution of food products.

Ibba, a graduate in Business Economics from Parma, controls the operating parent company of the Abbi Group, a large-scale retail giant in Sardinia, with a 25% market share, and in Central Italy.

The new Knight of Labor took over the leadership of the Group in 2003 and today is a point of reference for the Crai system and holds the position of President and CEO of Crai Secom spa.

It also controls "Centro Cash," Cedi Crai Tirreno, as well as numerous Crai distribution centers and Gieffe supermarkets. The holding company currently manages five brands, two of which are proprietary, and 311 directly operated and affiliated stores, 11 logistics platforms, and 150,000 square meters of retail space. It employs 175 people directly, approximately 1,600 associates, and generates a consolidated turnover of €1.4 billion.
