Confartigianato Imprese Sardegna has a new president. This is Giacomo Meloni, 58 years old, a building contractor from Olbia. For the next two years he will lead the association which has 7 thousand companies and 20 thousand employees.
This was decided by the artisan delegates, gathered in the Gallura capital during the Regional Assembly, who also elected the deputy vice president, Fabio Mereu, a 45-year-old passenger transport entrepreneur from Cagliari, who will be supported by the other 2 vice presidents: Sandro Paderi, entrepreneur construction worker from Oristano, and Giuseppe Pireddu, car repairer from Macomer.
The Council will also include Norella Orrù and Salvatore Loi (Cagliari-South Sardinia), Marina Manconi (Gallura), Giuseppe Tatti (Nuoro), Antonio Matzutzi (Oristano), Marco Rau and Maria Amelia Lai (Sassari).
Meloni arrives at the top of the Association after almost 30 years of militancy in Confartigianato in which he was, for several mandates, deputy regional vice president, provincial president of Confartigianato Gallura, regional president of the building contractors of Confartigianato, president of the Cassa Artigiana dell'Edilizia, member of the National Council of Confartigianato Edilizia-ANAEPA, and vice president of Cipnes of Olbia.
«We will never stop taking care of, protecting, strengthening and growing this fundamental heritage of tradition, knowledge, innovation, talent, ability, resilience and work that micro, small, medium-sized enterprises and artisans offer to the island, to the rest of 'Italy and Europe for the economic growth and competitive development of the productive fabric and for the social progress of citizens and entrepreneurs - said Giacomo Meloni - we will also reiterate this to President Todde, to the councilors and regional councilors to whom, as we have always done, we will not ask for favoritism or instruments of mere welfare but only to be put in a position to continue to do our best by creating income and employment. This has been and will always be our main path and it will be up to us to monitor and continually ask that the commitments made are respected."
