As the author pointed out, the politician was an example of uncompromising opposition to fascism. In his interventions, he never descended to the level of the fascists: he did not respond to rhetoric with more rhetoric, but with data, numbers and facts. This rigorous, truth-based approach made Matteotti an inconvenient figure for Mussolini's regime, but also a beacon of integrity and courage for all those fighting for justice and freedom.
