Parliamentary questions on one side and on the other the fears about the possible repercussions on the organization of the G7 of Culture that will take place from September 19 to 21, between Naples and Pompeii. The mystery on the case of the failed "consultant" of the Minister of Culture Maria Rosaria Boccia is deepening, but Giorgia Meloni defends Sangiuliano and assures that the affair will not have any consequences on the security of the event.
The head of the ministry, says the prime minister, "guarantees me that this person has not had access to any confidential documents, particularly regarding the G7 and above all he guarantees me that not one euro of Italian or public money has been spent on this person". Above all, "these are the things that interest me for government profiles, then I leave the gossip to others because I do not feel it is my duty to comment on it".
Still silence at the Collegio Romano, where the minister was spotted today also to finalize the program for the G7 that should be announced in the next few days. The fact is that the new evidence that emerged from the Boccia affair reported precisely the indiscreet presence of the entrepreneur during the inspections carried out by the minister's staff in Pompeii where a visit to the archaeological park, a concert by the conductor and advisor to the minister, Beatrice Venezi, and a dinner in the Palestra Grande were scheduled for the representatives of foreign governments. And for the organization of which an email was sent, published by Dagospia, by the director of the Pompeii Park, the German archaeologist Gabriel Zuchtriegel, who had in copy not only the officials of the ministry, such as the head of the technical secretariat, the diplomatic advisor, but also her, Maria Rosaria Boccia.
That she would therefore have been informed, like the authorized personnel, of the possible route that the ministers will take.
The mayor of Pompeii, Carmine Lo Sapio, comes out in defense of the woman and the minister : "Maria Rosaria Boccia did not participate in any operational or security meeting of the G7", he assures. In the meantime, parliamentary work is expected to reopen next week: the opposition's questions on the case await the minister and will have to be scheduled. On the issue of the failed appointment, the prime minister clarifies: Sangiuliano "tells me that he had actually evaluated the possibility of giving this person an unpaid collaboration assignment, then he made a different choice, he decided not to give that collaboration assignment in order to clarify some issues".
