"The situation of the roads in Sardinia is dramatic, ten works stopped for a billion euro of funding ".

On a very difficult day for the island's internal road connections , the deputy of the Alleanza Verdi-Left Francesca Ghirra let it be known that she had asked the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini to revoke the office of the Commissioner for Roads of Sardinia Christian Solinas .

«On 22 November 2021, after numerous appeals from the Region for the slowness of construction sites, the government - explains Ghirra - entrusted President Solinas, as extraordinary commissioner, with 10 works to speed up their construction».

«In over a year of commissioning - continues the opposition parliamentarian - none of the assigned works has been completed. The plans and procedures in progress even advance with greater delays and slowness than would have happened with the ordinary methods . There are no acts, resolutions or initiatives of any kind aimed at overcoming the serious situation in which the Sardinian road network is pouring.

In detail, the ten works headed by Commissioner Solinas are as follows: the completion of the Sassari-Olbia section of the 131, the upgrading of the Statale 554, the elimination of the at-grade intersections on the 130 in the Cagliari-Decimomannu section, the completion of the Statale 291 in the Alghero-Olmedo and Olmedo-airport sections, the connection between Statales 195 and 130, the new connection of the terrestrial isthmus with Sant'Antioco, the new Olbia-Palau, the stretch of the 125 between Tertenia and San Piramo. Total funding, 1,100,183,992 euros.

« I asked Minister Salvini – concludes Ghirra – to evaluate the revocation of the commissioner or how he intends to intervene so that the president fulfills his duties . Probably - he proposes - the Infrastructure Pole of the Italian Railways, which also includes Anas and Italferr, could be able to complete the works more quickly. These delays are no longer tolerable."
