The marriage proposal arrived at Fieracavalli Verona , an event where the two met in 2019. A few minutes before the start of the Grand Prix , test of the only Italian stage of the Jumping World Cup, Filippo - multi-medaled athlete and already in the competition between the Azzurri for the World Cup in show jumping - he knelt down asking for Gessica's hand . Without hesitation the answer, a "yes" pronounced with great emotion .

The two met at the prestigious event, a friendship born almost by chance, and then Filippo's invitation to Gessica to try his hand at show jumping. “Why don't you jump?” He would ask her. And she: “But where do I go with one eye covered”. “Our limits are in our heads”, the straight answer, and from there Gessica's decision to approach this sport, where the results were not long in coming.

Gessica Notaro , entrepreneur and activist engaged in awareness campaigns and combating gender-based violence, was reluctant to jump to the attention of the news because of the tragedy that hit her in 2017 , when she was scarred in the face with acid by the ex boyfriend .

From the attack, and despite the repeated treatments, Gessica lost an eye , but not the desire to live, also imposing herself on TV as the protagonist in "Dancing with the stars", "Quelli che il calcio", "Ciao Darwin", "Amici ”By Maria de Filippi.
