Geppi Cucciari: "After eleven years, I won't be returning to 'A Day as a Sheep' as I would have liked."
Rumors have been swirling for a month now, and now the Macomer presenter herself has posted it on social media: the video in which she hugs her friend and colleague Giorgio LauroPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
After eleven years, Geppi Cucciari leaves “A Day as a Sheep”.
The host herself announced it, without hiding the fact that it wasn't her decision : "In September, after 11 years, I won't be returning to the microphones of 'Un giorno da pecora' as I would have liked," she wrote on Instagram, hugging her right-hand man Giorgio Lauro to the tune of "Ne me quitte pas." "My work commitments over the last three years haven't allowed me to cover the entire radio season, but up until the last edition, I was always allowed to go live from the RAI headquarters in Milan for half the season."
This time, however, "despite my renewed availability, this solution, which would have allowed me to combine "Un giorno da pecora" with "Splendida cornice" and my other commitments, was deemed unfeasible for editorial reasons. It was decided to have someone available year-round. I'm sorry, I will miss the radio so much."
Hence the thanks: "I will miss @simpaticolauro, who was always much more than a colleague and with whom we built a truly special bond over the years. I will miss @rachele.brancatisano, who welcomed me like a sister from the beginning and who became my godmother because I had the privilege of baptizing her son. I will miss the editorial staff of this program, the smile of @the_crazy_joy, @francescafornario and her big heart, the absolute @ilmaestrobernardini, the always precious @la__noe and her charm, @marco1marra and his concreteness, @daniel.franchina1 and his editorial focus, and @davidebrit, always by our side. We truly all grew up together, between meetings, discussions, coffees and sandwiches on the go. It was wonderful to share this whole world with you. For the young and talented @rorositive @itschiaracami: I will always be your father. You have marked my years, my days, my lunches. And thanks to all the guests we've had in these 2,000 or so episodes, encounters that were sometimes surprising, sometimes disconcerting, always enlightening."
Finally, she said goodbye to the audience: "And I will miss the unique relationship I have with this program's listeners—a dedicated, attentive, rigorous, and enthusiastic audience. We'll meet again, I'm sure of it."
The rumor had already surfaced at the end of July, when the name of the presenter and actress from Macomer did not appear in the radio schedules being examined by Rai executives, while Nancy Brilli, who had replaced her after one season of "Dancing with the Stars" from February until the end of the season, was confirmed in her place.
Cucciari arrived on "Un Giorno da Pecora" in 2015 alongside Giorgio Lauro, and in eleven of the eighteen editions she became a key figure in this regular event for fans of politics and satire. As she herself writes, Cucciari, who is very busy between theater and film, has been confirmed as the host of "Splendida Cornice."
