After more than ten years at the helm of "Un Giorno da Pecora," Geppi Cucciari is leaving the Rai Radio1 program to devote herself fully to her many commitments in television, theater, and film. This, at least, is what emerges from the radio schedules being reviewed by Rai executives, where the host and actress from Macomer is not listed. Her place is confirmed to be that of Nancy Brilli, who, after one season on "Ballando con le stelle," took over from her from February until the end of the season.

The choice

"Purge" or professional choice? The tone certainly seemed very relaxed in mid-June: Cucciari, busy filming "Perfetta," the film adaptation of the successful theatrical monologue written and directed by Mattia Torre, directed by Paolo Zucca of Oristano, had appeared on the show to greet the Roman actress who had been called in temporarily to replace her. "I divide my time between beautiful Rome and beautiful Sardinia," she said. "As usual, I come home on the weekends, take a long swim, and from Monday to Friday I dedicate myself to this part of my life." When asked about her return to "Un Giorno da Pecora," she responded with her usual irony: "We are in the Lord's hands." Professor Andrea Crisanti, a microbiologist and Democratic Party senator, a guest on the show, was quick to quip: "We are really in Meloni's hands." Her words were stifled by a few laughs and the reassurance: "Anyway, I've always listened to you and continue to do so."

Since 2015

Cucciari arrived on "Un Giorno da Pecora" in 2015 alongside Giorgio Lauro, and in eleven of the eighteen editions she became a fixture on the show for fans of politics and satire. With her trademark ironic and intelligent style, she welcomed hundreds of guests to the Rai studios.

Between cinema and TV

Also averting the threat of a purge is the confirmation of her hosting of "Splendida Cornice," the Rai 3 people show that, season after season, has established itself as one of the public service's flagship programs. With its approach to television that is cultured without being elitist, ironic without being superficial, the show, now in its fifth season and with 85 episodes in total, has seen ratings steadily grow, surpassing one million viewers. But in recent years, cinema seems to have become the ideal venue for her to unleash her talent and her ability to bring fragile, strong characters to life. After "Diamonds" by Ferzan Özpetek, "Confiteor - How I Discovered I Wouldn't Make a Revolution" by Sassari's Bonifacio Angius, and "Life Goes This Way" by Riccardo Milani, to name just a few, Cucciari will be in "Zustissia," the film directed by Cagliari's Francesco Piras, coming out October 15th and about the story of Beniamino Zuncheddu. Not only that, he'll be back in theaters at Christmas in "Nella Gioia e nel Dolore," the new film directed by Ferzan Özpetek. And "Perfetta" is currently in production, having wrapped filming a few weeks ago.
