Genoa has formalized the dismissal of its German coach, Alexander Blessin.

«The club thanks the coach for the work he has done in recent months and wishes him the best for his professional future». The decision comes after two defeats in a row and a series of negative results, which took Genoa from second to fifth place in Serie B. At the same time, the Rossoblù club announced that "the technical guidance of the first team will be entrusted ad interim to coach Alberto Gilardino".

The coach, who is currently also coaching the Primavera side, will make his debut on Thursday at the Ferraris against SudTirol. But it is an interim solution: for the continuation of the championship, the club is thinking of Claudio Ranieri.
