Gaia Costa was also among the women and men who paraded on Masterchef last night, dressed in traditional dress, in the "Sa ramadura" ritual.

The 24-year-old from Tempio Pausania had been involved, together with the folk group from the Villanova district of Cagliari, of which she was a member, in the filming of the Sky programme, which took place between 18 and 19 June 2025.

Just twenty days later, on July 8, she was hit and killed by an SUV on Via Aga Khan in Porto Cervo . The driver was German manager Vivian Alexandra Spohr.

But on that hot June day, Gaia was there, with the people with whom she shared a passion for Sardinian traditions. Smiling, ready to fill the steps of the Bastione di Saint Remy, the site of the culinary challenge, with blue petals, like the colors of the winning team . A carefree day, seven distant months ago.

"The last beautiful experience with our Gaietta," recalls an emotional Antonio Piras, president and founder of the group. Gaia was "a daughter of artists": "Her grandparents were our first dancers." Her mother had fallen in love with that world and had met Gaia's father, from the Tempio folk group, on a tour in China.

Driven by her family's dedication, "Gaietta" never wanted to miss a single costume event: "Whenever she could," Piras says, "she would take her car and join us, wherever she could." Even in June, when one of the most popular TV programs called, she answered the call. And, in the front row, her gaze fixed on the future, she proudly represented her homeland.
