Second day of the Sardinian G7 and the European Labour Ministers, until recently, in the hemicycle of the Palazzo Regio in Cagliari, have thoroughly examined the issue of the moment: «We have addressed the issue of artificial intelligence and the impacts of artificial intelligence on the world of work», said Minister Marina Calderone at the end of the meetings.
"This is one of the points that the recent summit of heads of state and government has also explored and now it is extremely important for us to be able to communicate that the representatives of the employers' world and the social partners have decided to condense and above all represent in a common document the final decisions, which I believe should be underlined in a commitment to be actively involved in supporting social dialogue and above all to accompany governments in the implementation of the action plan and enhancement of activities and care services for families and the elderly population ."
And again: "Our countries have a common problem which is precisely the increase in the average age of the population and at the same time that of having to recover important components of society with young people and women to work", Calderone concluded. " This path gives us a positive employment trend especially also with regard to the increase in stable contracts, permanent contracts and a progressive decrease in fixed-term contracts ".
Minister Calderone then focused on the topic of immigrants: " We reiterated our joint commitment to the promotion and reception of those who arrive regularly in our countries, even if they have training courses behind them . As Italy, we are committed and, within the scope of the decree that we approved in 2023 in Cutro, we have set this objective. Today we have cooperation agreements with ten countries precisely to promote the regular entry of labor in the face of training courses that begin in the paths of origin".
