Liquids that change color or turn into smoke, space monsters that are actually microbes magnified under a microscope. It seems like magic, but it's science. It looks like a real image, but it was created by Artificial Intelligence. Anyone who wants to satisfy their curiosity and have fun learning with workshops and games can do so thanks to the European Researchers' Night. The University of Sassari participates in the initiative promoted by the European Commission as part of the Marie Curie Actions and coordinated in Italy by the SHARPER – Sharing Researchers' Passion for Education and Rights project.
The heart of the event The Tavolara Pavilion in Sassari will host the event on September 25th and 26th, hosting stands from the University of Sassari's departments and scientific partners, including the CNR (National Research Centre) for the first time.
The inauguration is next Thursday at 9:00 a.m. The event will feature exhibits and scientific workshops at 22 stands, alternating with the activities of the "ScienzArena" on the outdoor terrace. The mornings will be dedicated to primary and secondary schools, while on the afternoon of Friday, September 26, starting at 4:30 p.m., it will open its doors to families and the public.
Also noteworthy are the workshops at the Botanical Garden (Piandanna) dedicated to medicinal plants: on Tuesdays they will be open to schools, and on Fridays at 5 pm to families. Furthermore, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Piandanna, in the spaces of the Muniss , the Science Museum of the University of Sassari, experts from the 10Lab of Sardegna Ricerche will offer an interactive course on communicating one's research to researchers and doctoral students.
