Fines ranging from 200 to 2 thousand euros, depending on turnover, for those who violate the obligations to communicate and display fuel prices .

This is provided for by the Government's amendment to the decree on price transparency being examined by the Production Activities commission of the Chamber. The fines are therefore reduced compared to the 500-6,000 euros envisaged in the original formulation of the decree, but are in any case higher than the 200-800 euros indicated in the agreement reached with the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy . Furthermore, the government amendment raises to 4 (from 3) the number of violations, even if not consecutive in 60 days, which trigger the suspension of the activity. The duration of any suspension of the activity also changes, which can be done "for a period of not less than 1 day and not more than 30 days".

The average price calculated and published by the Mimt will be on a regional and autonomous province basis for operators on the non-motorway network , while on a national basis for those operating on motorways.

However, the obligation remains for petrol stations – on roads and motorways – to clearly display the price lists with the average reference prices alongside the prices charged. The arrival of an app that will allow all motorists to consult the average prices and those charged is also expected.
