After the success at the Magazzini del Sale inside the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, the Museo Diocesano Arborense will host, starting this evening, Friday 28 October, at 6.30 pm, the exhibition “Aurum Urens” by the artist Michele Ardu .

An intense journey through photographs and sculptures that focuses on the inestimable value of nature destroyed by fires and on what remains after the unstoppable passage of the flames.

A collection of surviving wild woods, each carved primarily by fire, which reveals the drama of destruction, but also the dignity of the struggle for life and the shining light of rebirth.

Walking through the burnt lands, among the remains of burnt centuries-old trees, Michele Ardu carefully chooses some of the surviving woods , collecting real ancient natural relics that have faced the devastation of the fire.

From these woods the artist creates burnt gold sculptures and works them with patience and passion, enhancing every wrinkle, scar and burn.
After centuries of living on the same acres of land, these woods are now making their way to museums around the world and new homes.

They continue to live in this new way trying to protect other living forests, recounting the preciousness and fragility of Nature.

The exhibition, which has the patronage of the Presidency of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Forestry Corps and the Oristano and Beyond Cultural Association, will be open on Wednesdays from 10 to 13, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 13 and from 17 to 20, until January 29, 2023.
