From Ovodda to TV: Jacopo Vacca enters the College.
The 17-year-old, proudly Sardinian, is one of the 18 contestants in the ninth season of the highly successful Rai program, streaming on RaiPlay from October 23rd: a sort of social experiment featuring today's youth catapulted into the Italy of the past. This year, they will be teleported back to 1990.
Jacopo attends an Industrial Technical Institute with a focus on Chemistry and in his free time he dedicates himself to music, as he explains in the presentation clip, with Sa Razza playing in the background : «I am part of a folk group made up of about twenty people, mostly young people, because it is the young people who carry on the traditions».
Jacopo loves being in contact with nature and animals, especially his donkey Zineddu: "I take care of him as if he were a pet, a dog, only he lives in the countryside."
“I’m very shy,” he says. “I’m someone who tends to solve problems on my own. I withdraw into myself, and sooner or later it will pass.”
Jacopo, his mother says, "is a very introverted boy, perhaps the experience at the boarding school will open him up a little more."
The returning cast includes Andrea Maggi, Italian and civics teacher, Maria Rosa Petolicchio, math and science teacher, Alessandro Carnevale, art teacher, David W. Callahan, English teacher, and Luca Raina, history and geography teacher. Paolo Bosisio returns as principal, while journalist Pierluigi Pardo narrates.
