The third edition of Aut Out Aut, the literary festival on diversity and independent living , is underway . Organized by the Diversamente Odv association, its primary goal is to improve the quality of life for autistic people and their families. The artistic direction is entrusted to Alessandro Muroni, musician, composer, and writer.
A festival dedicated to Kafka in 2024 and inspired this year by the characters of Samuel Beckett's novels and plays , which confirms its peculiarity, that of talking about autism without talking about it, which tells the story of autistic disorder not by addressing it directly but through literature and the arts.
Aut Out Aut therefore continues its cultural and social journey: promoting concrete life projects for autistic people in support and integration of the Dopo di noi law (112/2016), which introduced for the first time into our legal system specific protections for people with severe disabilities, enacted to promote their well-being, full social inclusion and autonomy (the expression “dopo di noi” refers to the period of life of disabled people following the death of their parents/family members).
The main focus of Aut Out Aut will take place between October 5th and 24th in Cagliari, Iglesias, Monserrato, Sestu, and Villaspeciosa, drawing on the teachings of the great French pedagogue Fernand Deligny, a key figure in twentieth-century pedagogy, and his alternative, anti-academic approach.
The event kicks off in Cagliari on Sunday, October 5th, at the Mondadori Bookstore (Via Roma, 63). At 5 pm, Laura Pugno will present her book The Beyond. Poetry, Third Landscape, Third Nature? (Il saggiatore, 2025), featuring Francesco Ottonello. This will be followed by "poetic" discussions with Anna Maria Farabbi and Roberta Castoldi.
