From Los Angeles to Poetto on the wave of music

From Poetto Beach to Los Angeles, riding the wave of music. He is Cagliari-born rapper Marco Leschio , and his new album is titled "Poetto Shoreline."
"Shoreline means shoreline, the title refers to the imaginary line where water and land meet, Poetto Bay, but it also harks back to the trap culture of the US West Coast," he explains. "I wanted to create a title that was rich in identity for us Sardinians and that vertically refers to our coastline and to being West Coast in our own way, from surfing to the Cagliari lifestyle that somehow resembles the Californian one."
Raised in the La Palma neighborhood, where, as he says in one of his songs, "I only see regrets," Leschio uses music as a means of self-expression and a tool for revenge. The result is an album that blends light, slightly aggressive tracks in the style typical of many trap artists with more intimate, introspective ones.
“It’s an album that helped me fully represent my place and my people, bringing contemporary trap with a national language and a motivational message that aims to make people believe in themselves rather than abandon themselves to the streets.”
This fourth album features 13 tracks, featuring production from Gyard, Succo, Flatpearl, Stimena, Ares, and Young Cruel, as well as collaborations with Pakos and KiloKG. This mature work aims to bridge two different cultures and worlds, so distant yet so close.
"There are many songs I care about, but perhaps 'Un posto X me', 'Kolossal', and 'In pieno' ft. Pakos are the songs I feel the strongest connection to, each for a different reason. In 'Dal profondo', I was able to talk about my personal traumas and diabetes, the medications I take, and even the dark moments in my life. I looked so deeply at myself to write verses like perhaps I've never done before," Leschio continues.
Four songs were also made into music videos. "Every director was able to interpret my vision, and I thank them for that. It's not easy to get inside my head," Leschio jokes.
The next video, coming soon, will be "Dal profondo." There's plenty of news to come: "There will be several live shows around Sardinia. I can't wait to get back on stage and sing with my people. And then a new album, an even more informed project with a cinematic concept, which I'm already working on."
