The unified management of the city's museum system has resumed in Mandas, spurred by recent growth in attendance. More and more visitors to the former Duchy town are choosing not to stop at a single site, but to explore the entire cultural circuit, creating a true tour of archaeology, art, and local history. The new structure, entrusted to the Lugori cooperative, has come into effect, connecting four institutions: the Peregrinatio Fidei Museum of Sacred Art, the Is Lollas de is Aiaus Ethnographic Museum, the Archaeological Center, and the Vintage Car Museum, recently inaugurated to enrich the museum system with an original exhibition dedicated to the history of mobility on the island.
Through historic cars and motorcycles, the permanent exhibition chronicles the technological and social evolution of the 20th century, combining the vehicles with period objects and artifacts from the world of workshops. The unified management system aims to present itself in a coordinated manner, with integrated itineraries and a more structured cultural offering. Not just individual admissions, but an offering capable of narrating Mandas in its entirety, connecting different languages and identities. "A collaborative effort involving operators and the local community," emphasized Mayor Umberto Oppus, who thanked, among others, Manuele Levanti, Pamela Di Chirico, and Daniele Atzeni for their commitment to managing and building this new direction. The revitalization of the museum system is also part of a broader strategy that extends beyond municipal boundaries and focuses on collaboration with the neighboring towns of Suelli and Isili.
The Archaeology Train project, supported with two million euros in funding from the Ministry of Culture, aims to enhance the sites of Piscu, Su Angiu, and Is Paras.
