A journey in the footsteps of the great José Bragato and a very topical theme, also linked to the life of the cellist, emigration. The Perfect Duo is ready to represent Sardinia once again in a national and international showcase on the occasion of the "Concerti del Quirinale".

On March 27 at 12 the pianist Clorinda Perfetto, teacher at the Conservatory of Cagliari, and the Berliner Robert Witt, first cello of the Teatro Lirico, will be the protagonists in the Cappella Paolina of a chamber concert that will be broadcast live on Rai Radio 3 and EuroRadio.

A tribute to the composer and transcriber José Bragato, Italian cellist, Argentine by adoption, "principal arranger and orchestrator of Astor Piazzolla's music", explains Robert Witt. An itinerary through the popular sounds of Triste Y Samba and Tarantella, pieces linked to the new current of vanguardist tango and the impressionist one inspired by his grandfather's paintings, from here to scores that combine tango, milonga, milontan.

"His repertoire - say the protagonists of the concert - also ranged from great romantic literature, starting with the favorite Schumann. This is why we have included the famous Fantasiestücke in the lineup".

The link between Bragato and the Perfect Duo is studded with intertwining and fortuitous coincidences. Udinese, born in 1915, Bragato emigrated to Argentina at the age of 13, taking with him his beloved plan, which was then lost during a storm. He has to say goodbye, given his economic conditions, to the instrument. But meeting a German cellist gives a professional turn to his life. Thanks to the gift of the cello and the free lessons from his compatriot, he makes his way and becomes first cello of the Orchestra del Teatro Colon and a virtuoso appreciated all over the world. "It will be an emotion for us - confesses Clorinda Perfetto - to revive the atmospheres and sounds of her compositions, some unpublished, which her daughter Elsa, whom she met during our tour in Argentina, made available to us. She had listened to some of our recordings and video on youtube and she wanted to meet us in Argentina, because our playing, as she told us, reminded her of her father's ".

The story of the Perfect Duo begins in 2015 when the pianist from Cagliari and the Berlin cellist, both professors of the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, won the international chamber music competition Tim, taking first place in all five rounds. Since then the duo has performed on stages all over the world.
