From artificial intelligence to the energy transition, from environmental protection to healthcare, and even online university education: the University of Cagliari is expanding its educational offering with seven new degree programs " designed to respond to societal changes, the needs of the labor market, and the demands of businesses and public administrations."
Among the key innovations of the new programs, characterized by an interdisciplinary approach and a focus on the world of work, is the Master's Degree in Management Engineering , which trains professionals capable of managing innovation, production processes, and the digital transformation of businesses, integrating technological and managerial skills. Also newly created is the Master's Degree in Sustainable Development and Innovation Law , dedicated to training legal experts to address the challenges of sustainability, digital transition, and artificial intelligence, with two programs dedicated to sustainable development and digital innovation.
Great attention is also paid to environmental protection with the new master's degree in Environmental and Forensic Toxicology , which prepares specialists in the analysis of environmental contamination, environmental crimes and health risks , through skills ranging from biological and chemical sciences to legal and IT aspects.
A new professional degree program in Industrial Electrical and Aeronautical Technologies will be launched in Olbia. It was created to meet the growing demand for highly qualified technicians in the industrial, energy, and aeronautics sectors, thanks to training strongly oriented towards laboratories and in-company internships. Digital transformation also finds its place in the Master's Degree in Data Science , which will train professionals specialized in data analysis, big data and artificial intelligence , with two curricula aimed at both graduates in economics and those from the STEM field.
The program is rounded out with a master's degree in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activities , dedicated to training experts in health promotion through personalized physical exercise, and a bachelor's degree in Business Economics & Management, taught entirely online to facilitate access to university studies for working students, students living in inland areas, or those with specific personal and family needs.
"With these seven new courses, the University of Cagliari confirms its commitment to offering increasingly high-quality education in line with today's challenges, strengthening the link between teaching, research, the local community, and the productive system, and creating new professional opportunities for future generations of graduates," said Ignazio Putzu, Vice Rector for Teaching.
