Sardinian haulers are on their knees: starting January 1st, shipping companies are charging up to €9.50 more per linear meter to load semi-trailers.

The price increases, in some cases as high as 50%, concern the portion of the ticket that combines the ETS (carbon dioxide emissions) payment and the fuel surcharge. Experts are sounding the alarm: "At this rate, there will be price increases for consumers too." Artichoke exports are in crisis.
