Franco Frattini is the new president of the Council of State. Voted unanimously, it succeeds Filippo Patroni Griffi.

64 years old, born in Rome, he has already been foreign minister (twice in the Berlusconi government), and is an extraordinary professor at Link Campus University, as well as honorary professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Federation's foreign ministry.

Among the first to congratulate for the post, Senator Pd Gianni Pittella: "His caliber as a jurist, his trait as a gentleman - he writes on Twitter - will be invaluable at the head of the high jurisdiction to which he is called, so important because administrative justice but also a deposit of knowledge for the government and institutions ".
