Francesco Demuro's concert, scheduled for this evening in Olbia at 9:30 PM in front of the Basilica of San Simplicio, has been postponed to a later date. The event has been canceled due to the tenor's acute laryngitis; the organizers reserve the right to announce the new date as soon as possible.

"It is with great regret that I must announce that, due to acute laryngitis caused by a strong blast of air conditioning, I will not be able to perform at the concert scheduled for tonight," Demuro explained on social media. "Doctors have advised me to undergo complete vocal rest to avoid complications and ensure a full recovery. The concert," the post published tonight continues, "is not canceled, but merely postponed to a new date that will be announced soon. I deeply apologize to the audience and the organizers for this inconvenience, but I am certain that we will meet again soon, with my voice fully recovered, to share music with even greater emotion and gratitude. Thank you for your understanding and for the affection you always show me."

The celebrated tenor's concert—an exceptional recital accompanied by the great maestro James Vaughan, a historic figure at La Scala—was supposed to open the Bernardo De Muro Festival today. As things stand, the event named after one of the greatest Italian tenors of the 20th century will debut on July 27th in the Parco della Pineta in Laconi, Arzachena. The star performer will be the great Nicola Piovani, composer of the music for "Life is Beautiful," along with flutist Massimo Mercelli and the Vittorio Calamani Orchestra, one of Europe's most promising under-35 symphony groups.
