"Livio from Cagliari" sets out barefoot to discover that he is not alone, that he is not the only "Unworthy," but, rather, that he is part of a multitude of strange, different people, unaccepted by the conforming masses. Above all, he will discover, over the next ten years of his life, that in that multitude he will find friendship, love—the beautiful Anaïs, always one step ahead, always ahead in experimentation as well as in desperation—and something resembling another family.
Francesco Abate is bringing his novel “ Gli indegni ”, published by Einaudi in 2025 and winner of the “Camilleri” prize in Nuoro during the 17th edition of the “Premio Deledda”, outside the island's borders on a four-date tour between Lombardy and Piedmont.
The Cagliari-born writer will arrive in Milan on January 19th at 6:00 PM, at the "Verso Libri" bookshop on Corso Porta Ticinese (Milan); he will be in conversation with journalist and writer Elvira Serra . The following day, "Gli Indegni" will be at the Giratempo bookshop in Nerviano, accompanied by bookseller Marzia Ferrigolo. The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 PM.
Thursday 22 January it's Turin's turn: at the “Ponte sulla Dora” bookshop in via Pisa, at 6.30 pm, together with the historic Turin bookseller Rocco Pinto and the crime novelist Eleonora Carta .
The tour will end, for now, at the “librerie.coop” bookshop on Via Roma 3 in Mantua, where at 6 pm Abate will talk with Simonetta Bitasi .
Livio left Cagliari in 1979 for Florence, where he attended a Patti Smith concert; he left Cagliari from January 19th to 22nd to meet all those readers who, at least once in their lives, have also felt "unworthy."
