The keyboardist and leader of the Chameleons, Antonio Cripezzi, was found dead this morning in a hotel in San Giovanni Teatino, Chieti.

The artist, 76 years old and originally from Milan, had performed last night in Pescara with the group, and after having dinner with a group of fans he returned to the hotel. He was probably killed by a sudden illness.

When the rescuers arrived on the scene they could only ascertain his death.

Numerous messages of condolence appeared on social networks, including that of Mario Lavezzi, one of the founders of the Chameleons in the 1960s: “My dear friend of a lifetime Tonino Cripezzi has gone away in his sleep. I can't believe it, I'm shocked by the pain. The good times we lived together come back to mind, which I will always keep in my deep dear friend ”.
