Max Verstappen is Formula One world champion for the third time in a row. The Dutch Red Bull driver wins the world title with six Grands Prix to spare, thanks to second place in the Sprint race, in Losail, Qatar.

With his third career triumph, Verstappen joins the club of Lauda, Senna, Piquet, Stewart and Brabham. Ahead of them only Vettel and Prost, with four titles, Fangio with five and Schumacher and Hamilton with seven world championship wins.

The accident to teammate Perez was decisive, and with zero points today he is out of the running in a comeback that is virtually impossible.
