Lando Norris for McLaren has won the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship.
McLaren's British driver only needed a third-place finish in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix—won by Max Verstappen—to secure his first career title. Second place at Yas Marina went to Oscar Piastri's other "papaya." The final standings see Norris lead with 423 points, Verstappen 421, and Piastri 410.
For Norris – moved by the great emotion – it is the first world championship of his career, won after an exhilarating season and decided in the final GP by just two points over Verstappen.
The tears continued in the post-race interview: "I didn't think I'd cry, but I did. And I'm proud to make so many people cry: it's been a long journey, and I want to thank the team and my family, who have supported me from the beginning. It's an incredible joy."
