Lando Norris took pole position for the Belgian GP, the thirteenth round of the Formula 1 world championship. At the Spa circuit, the McLaren driver finished qualifying ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. Third-place finish and second row start went to Charles Leclerc for Ferrari, who will be joined by Max Verstappen for Red Bull.

Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, had a weekend to forget. Another bad day for the Ferrari driver, who, after finishing fifteenth in the Sprint race won by Verstappen, was eliminated in Q1 qualifying, relegating him to sixteenth place on the grid for tomorrow's race. Hamilton had managed to post the seventh fastest time in his final Q1 attempt, but his lap was deemed unconvincing, and the Ferrari champion slipped to sixteenth . Kimi Antonelli also fared poorly, finishing only eighteenth.

Norris, taking his thirteenth career pole position, set a time of 1:40.562, compared to Piastri's 1:40.647 and Leclerc's 1:40.900, who beat Verstappen, the sprint race winner, by just three thousandths . Alex Albon (Williams) and George Russell (Mercedes) will start tomorrow on the third row, with Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) in fourth, and Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) and Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber) in fifth.
