The 24th edition of Forma e Poesia nel Jazz is about to end: the festival organized in Cagliari by the cooperative of the same name directed by Nicola Spiga proposes in November three days of great music at the Bflat, the jazz club in via del Pozzetto del patron Marco Tullio Coco, partner of the initiative and one of the most active realities at national level.

The awakening of festivals and live music activities, thanks to the vaccination campaign and the green pass tool, is a factor that the public is greeting with great interest and enthusiasm and all the venues offering concerts and live events are recording important numbers .

The Pianist Mauro Mulas from Cagliari at the head of his trio with Alessandro "Cinzio" Atzori on double bass and Pierpaolo Frailis on drums opens the series of Shape and Poetry of Jazz. Discrete sounds, almost chamber music, with a search for melody and dynamics, those that can be heard in the concert on Wednesday 4 as well as in the eleven songs of "Chiaroscuro", the recent album by Mulas and associates that will dictate the coordinates of the evening.

Already among the protagonists of the festival two editions ago, in quartet, Max Ionata and Luca Mannutza return to Forma e Poesia nel Jazz on 11 November, this time as a duo; a solid and almost twenty-year artistic bond is the basis of the partnership between the saxophonist from Abruzzo, born in 1972, and the pianist from Cagliari, 53, who in addition to their own projects count a wide range of collaborations and an intense concert activity.

Grand finale, five nights later, with the trio of an authentic drum icon in jazz of the last five decades: Peter Erskine, a name that refers to fundamental pages of this music, to groups such as Weather Report and Steps Ahead, including the many experiences that stand out in his vast curriculum.

A career that counts something like seven hundred albums, about fifty of which as a leader. With him on the stage of the Bflat, Tuesday 16 November, the only Sardinian date of the tour, Alan Pasqua on the piano and Darek Oles on the double bass, the same musicians who with Peter Erskine and saxophonist George Garzone sign the album "3 Nights in LA", recorded live two years ago.

All concerts will start at 20.30.

Access will be through a green pass and the 100% capacity will guarantee compliance with all the health precautions in force for the containment of the spread of the Covid-19 contagion.
