The stances of the world of sport continue after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The last case is that of the French Football Association which has officially lined up "for the exclusion of Russia from the next World Cup".
The position came from the voice of the president of the transalpine federation, Noël Le Graët, during an interview with Le Parisien.
"The world of sport, and in particular football, cannot remain neutral. I certainly will not oppose the exclusion of Russia," added Le Graët.
In recent days, different Federations and different players have openly sided against Moscow. Poland, among others, refused to take the field for the play-offs against the Russian national team. And so is Sweden.
Uefa, on the other hand, has decided to remove the Champions League final in St. Petersburg, to divert it to Paris, precisely as a sign of condemnation of the Russian war of conquest in Ukraine.
But not only football and the other sports of wider appeal have decided to take sides.
La Fide, the International Chess Federation, has announced that "due to the" rapid deterioration of the geopolitical situation, the chess Olympics (a real institution for the Russians) will no longer be held in Russia, or a sort of Team World Championship that usually gathers formations of about 180 countries and thousands of players. The tournament was scheduled in Moscow from July 26 to August 8.
