These are the data that emerge from the XXII Ismea-Qualivita Report on Dop Igp and Stg agri-food and wine production , which crown the Island as the region that in 2023 grew the most in the South with regards to the economy with a designation of origin.

A leap – significantly higher than the already excellent results of Abruzzo (+10.6%), Campania (+2.9%) and Sicily (+2.2%) – which allowed Sardinia to enter the top ten of Italian regions, precisely in ninth place. place, with a total economic value of 682 million euros.

If we look at the rankings for food alone, the Island is even in fourth position, with an economic value of 539 million and a leap forward between 2022 and 2023 that exceeds 23% . The result - the report underlines - is certainly influenced by the results of Pecorino Romano with a growth that is close to 31%.

As far as the wine sector alone is concerned, the value of Sardinian production is 143 million , a figure that places the island in eleventh place at a national level.
