Focs de Sant Joan, the jumping of the bonfires to seal a friendship

Great success for the first event within the Focs de Sant Joan 2023 organized by the Proloco Alghero after a three-year break.

An edition dedicated to rebirth and renewal, with the traditional leap of fire and the ritual of the comparatico. The "cronies" dressed in white, jumping the bonfire on the beach , forge a bond for life , as strong as Alghero's bond with Catalonia.

There were indeed the "masters of fire", the Corre Focs Malefica de Coll of Barcelona. Typical folk group from Catalonia, the Corre Focs "run" with fire by performing in a fireworks show (at a safe distance) that enhances the power of fire and the great bonfire of San Giovanni.

A show curated by Chiara Murru with SpazioT and the participation , as well as the CorreFocs Malèfica de Coll (Barcelona), also of Su Cuncordu e' Santa Rughe (Choir of the Archconfraternity of Santa Croce) Santu Lussurgiu, Coro Ilune directed by Alessandro Catte (Dorgali), of the Latin Vela/Alghero Naval League and of the Dalerci Band.

Today, Saturday 24 June, we continue with the Sant Joan Handicraft Exhibition on the Barcelona seafront as far as the beach, then at 9pm the "Free Flight" concert followed by the "Pauz&Friends" DJ set.
