Acquitted due to the lack of intent . Anna Rossi (82 years old) and Fiorella Dellachà (52) were acquitted of the charge of animal cruelty for having kept around 120 dogs, unnecessarily, among enormous quantities of waste of various kinds and in conditions of malnutrition.
Defended by lawyers Pier Andrea Setzu and Sara Battolu, mother and daughter had been reported in August 2024, when an illegal kennel was seized in Santu Lianu, along the Bacca Madra municipal road.
The case of the alleged Flumini kennel concentration camp exploded in the summer of two years ago, when the Carabinieri, together with the Municipality of Quartu and the Cagliari ASL, had cleared the shelter that was holding over 120 animals in inhumane conditions .
The two women ran the completely illegal facility in critical sanitary conditions. They had been charged, but the judge has now acquitted them, granting the request of lawyers Setzu and Battolu: they didn't mean to harm the animals, but were convinced they were caring for them.
