"For over two years, Argea has approved our Local Development Strategies for fisheries, for funding from Feampa funds, the European Maritime Affairs Fund for Fisheries and Aquaculture 2021-2027, amounting to 3 million euros . The regional council has allocated a further 3 million , again to be used in the vast Flag area, but to date we have received no response ."

The president of Flag Northern Sardinia, Benedetto Sechi, denounces the significant delay in the transfer of resources recognized with the approval of the Action Program for the Crisis-Ridden Fishing Sector, following the agreement between the Region and Flag in October 2023, which officially launched the Intervention Plan. Two years later, six million euros remain blocked, funds intended to promote the development of the sector across a vast territory stretching from the coastal municipalities of Sassari to the province of Olbia-Tempio.

" Our concern is that Sardinia will have to return the resources allocated by the European Union and the State ," underlines the president of Flag NS.

Following the approval of Regional Law 19/2025, which exempts the Flag from the requirement of surety bonds, the regional council has finally issued implementing regulations, but nothing has changed regarding the available resources . "We are awaiting a meeting to establish a timetable," Sechi concludes, "which will allow us to make up for lost time."
