The most important award of the 7th Fiorenzo Serra Film Festival remains in Sardinia. The jury chose as the winner “ S'umbra 'e su fogu” the film by the director from Cagliari Enrico Pau . The work tells the story of the devastating fire that hit Montiferru three years ago, devouring 13 thousand hectares of land, woods and pastures.

Over 300 works from all over the world took part in the international competition on ethnographic cinema organized by the Società Umanitaria-Cineteca Sarda. The final ceremony was held at the Department of History, Human Sciences and Education at the University of Sassari. Enrico Pau wanted to dedicate the victory to the actor Tino Petilli, who passed away in recent days.

Among the short films, the first prize was awarded to “ Wiwa” , the first work by Ecuadorian Adrian Rivera .

As for the section dedicated to Antonio Simon Mossa, archaeologist but also filmmaker and collaborator of Fiorenzo Serra, the winning feature film is “ Le ciel, la terre et l'homme” by the German director Caroline Reucker , the best short film is “ Acuatenientes” , by Colombians Andres Gil and Michael Avila.

Special mention for “ Cara a su 'entu-Con il vento in faccia” by the young Andrea Deidda , about the dream realized or yet to be realized of some Sardinian jockeys: running in the Palio di Siena.
