The journey of the bees told by two nomadic beekeepers at the foot of the Alps and the Pyrenees: this is the theme of the film "The journey of the bees" by Greca Nathascia Meloni and Max Leimstättner , shot between Austria and France, which won the Fiorenzo Serra Film Festivals 2022 . After the viewing of the finalist works (chosen from 300 works from all over the world) the international ethnographic film competition celebrated the awards evening at the Department of Human Sciences of the University of Sassari .

Among the shorts, success for the Portuguese “ Tália ” by David Gomes and Pedro Cruz , the story of an old woman who since childhood weaves rush fibers to make mats even though it is no longer profitable. Special mention for the Nepalese “ Story of life, death, survival & hope by Ramesh Ghorsaini .

The films competing in the free-themed section, named after Antonio Simon Mossa, also received awards. The winner among the feature films is "La tela ", by the Oristano artist Salvatore Garau , a significant journey inside the Massama prison in Sardinia , where the director himself teaches the inmates the art of painting, establishing a human relationship with them, waiting for the return to freedom.

Among the short films, “ Karim ” by the Spanish Gonzalo Ballester was awarded, the sad journey of a Moroccan migrant returning to his homeland from Spain, where he had hoped, in vain, to find a better future. Special mention for “ Kambana ”, by the Spanish Samuel Pastor , filmed in Madagascar: 15 intense minutes that tell the tragic story of Ortencia, mother of twins, considered bringers of misfortune by the tribe in which they live, and who accepts being abandoned by the tribe for the sake of her children.
