Paolo Vanoli is the preferred replacement, ready to return to the Viola bench.

Fiorentina have chosen to recall the coach (whose contract was not renewed in June) who, taking over from Stefano Pioli in November last season, managed to secure a difficult survival opportunity.

So, there's more room for Vanoli's second win than for the likes of Thiago Motta and Tudor. Fiorentina, after the first three matchdays of the season, is still bottom with zero points and the target of protests from the fans.
