Carlos Alcaraz suffers a set but ultimately wins in the opening match of the ATP Finals in Turin.

The Spaniard - inconsistent in his service and at times prone to errors - defeated the Australian Alex De Minaur in two sets after an hour and 39 minutes of play.

The final score was 7-6 (5), 6-2.

In the first set the match was very balanced and was resolved only in the tie break (with De Minaur often in the lead), while in the second set Alcaraz took the lead almost immediately, closing with ease.
