A 30 million euro fund for small municipalities in the internal areas of Sardinia and Sicily.

It is the one inserted in the st forecast of the Ministry of the Interior , according to what is stated in the draft budget law.

The allocation concerns 2024 and is intended in particular for the centers of the two largest islands with a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants located in "territorially disadvantaged" areas.

The beneficiary municipalities, it is explained, will be those with «definitive Istat population as of 31 December 2022 reduced by more than 5 percent compared to 2011 ; average per capita income more than 3,000 euros lower than the national average, calculated on the basis of data from the last tax year available; index of social and material vulnerability higher than the national average ".

The contribution, distributed in proportion to the definitive Istat population as of 31 December 2022, will be adopted by 28 February 2024.
