Tomorrow, Thursday 4 August, the 23rd edition of the Festival dei Tacchi kicks off, a contemporary theater review organized by the Cagliari company “Cada Die Teatro” between the municipalities of Jerzu and Ulassai , immersed in the spectacular natural scenery of Ogliastra.
The protagonist until 9 August will be the concept of "freedom" that all the guest artists of the Festival have chosen to tell in their own way, with different interpretations on each day of the exhibition. Six days of events, 16 shows, 7 stages, 3 theatrical workshops and literary presentations with, among other protagonists, Ascanio Celestini, Paolo Rossi, Ginevra Di Marco, Valerio Aprea, Giuseppe Cederna and Eliana Cantone are scheduled.
THE SHOW - Under the artistic direction of Giancarlo Biffi, the Festival welcomes the spectators with " Pesticidio " (tomorrow at 9.30 pm, Ulassai Art Station) written jointly by Pierpaolo Piludu and Andrea Serra and directed by Alessandro Mascia . Piludu on stage plays Bachisio, a simple and meek man, strongly linked to nature and his existence as a farmer, forced to defend the greatest of freedoms, that of being able to live without suffering the greed and abuses of the powerful. Together with his wife and son, like many other farmers, he fights against a large multinational, “Bentulare”, which has bought huge plots of land throughout Sardinia to cultivate them intensively.
“Pesticidio” is strongly linked to another project by Cada Die Teatro, the documentary “Dagli scti nascon tesori” of which an excerpt will be screened at the end of the show . The work explores, through a series of interviews with some of the most forward-looking and innovative personalities of our island, the real possibility that a different approach, a different investment on our planet, can offer a better future to our children.
THE BOOK - Also tomorrow at 18.30, in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Jerzu, the book "Contus a calori 'e fogu" written by Gianfranco Loi and Tonino Serra (Ars Artium Editrice) will be presented who will talk with the Councilor for Culture of Jerzu Fabrizio Contu. Chatting and telling, or talking by telling, was a ritual around the fireplace on winter nights. We listened to the older ones who spoke, "allegànta", of stories of war and bandits, of work and exile, of hidden treasures and daily hunger. The chats of that time, "is contus a calori 'e fogu" or " is allegas a su friscu ”had the power to testify and transmit to the youngest a common culture, which was the identity of the people.
The Festival is supported by the Municipality of Jerzu, the Municipality of Ulassai, Cantina Antichi Poderi, the Foundation of Sardinia, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Ministry of Culture.
