With the blessing of Pope Francis, the curtain fell on the fifteenth-century feast of Sant'Amatore. After four centuries, the devotion of the community of Gesico towards the holy bishop and martyr, whose bone relics are kept in the parish of Santa Giusta, is intact.

At the conclusion of the religious and cultural events promoted by the Pro loco in collaboration with the Municipality, the Region, the Santa Giusta Parish, the Sant'Amadu volunteer association and the Don Giuseppe Atzori oratory, the parchment with the Pope's blessing arrived: " His Holiness Francis heartily imparts the implored apostolic blessing to the parish priest Don Efisio Zara and to the parish community of Sant'Amatore bishop and martyr on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the patronal feast and invokes a new abundance of graces and heavenly favors and the continuous protection of the Blessed Virgin Maria ".
