Fear for the Uruguayan footballer Nicolás Fonseca, son of Daniel, former striker of Cagliari, as well as Juventus, Roma and Napoli.

The 26-year-old, who plays for Mexican club Leon, was kidnapped for several hours and his car was robbed while he was on his way to training.

According to local media, Fonseca Jr. was intercepted by armed men traveling in another vehicle who climbed into his BMW.

The young footballer was then robbed of his personal belongings and abandoned in an area far from the road. Hours later the police found the footballer's car, a few kilometers away.

Both the player and the club have so far avoided making any comments on the incident. Fonseca arrived at León from River Plate in January and quickly earned a place in coach Eduardo Berizzo's estimation, becoming a key piece in the midfield.
