After the success of Veronica Perseo and Lola Ponce, the third musical guest who shone on the stage of the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, currently taking place between Cagliari and Forte Village, was Fausto Leali, a unique voice and charismatic presence in the panorama of the best Italian singer-songwriters for over 60 years.
Tiziana Rocca, at the helm of the event now in its eighth edition, wanted, for 2025, in addition to a trio of truly exceptional female artists, also a historic interpreter who has written memorable pages in the history of music made in Italy from the 1960s to today.
With his deep timbre, the “white negro” of Italian pop music gave voice to timeless hits such as “A chi”, a poignant ballad that climbed the international charts in 1967, “Deborah”, made immortal at the Sanremo Festival in 1968, and the Sanremo song “Ti lascerò”, with which he won in 1989 in a duet with Anna Oxa.
His performance of “Mi manchi” thrilled the big foreign stars present and the many celebrities of Italian cinema, from Claudia Gerini to Fabio Testi and many others, who gave him a long and affectionate standing ovation.
An extraordinary voice capable of warming up the prestigious international audience, also captivating the many students of the University of Cagliari who, despite their young age, showed that they knew all the songs of the iconic artist by heart, fresh from last year's triumphant tour for his 80th birthday and to celebrate six decades of an extraordinary career with millions of records sold all over the world.
This evening at 8:30 pm, the fourth and final evening with many big stars to receive the Festival awards, the award ceremony for the best short film in competition chosen by the jury chaired by Michaela Ramazzotti and the sparkling sound of Paola Iezzi who continues a happy singing career also as a soloist enriched by moments of reunion with her sister Chiara on special occasions such as happened at Sanremo 2024, when they were chosen by Carlo Conti to participate in the Ariston Theater festival with their latest hit, "Furore", a super popular melody, last summer's hit and winner of the Lunezia Award for the particular artistic and literary value of the lyrics and music.
