Valerio Onida, former president of the Constitutional Court, died.

The news is given by his son Francesco who posted a photo on Facebook with the inscription: “Hi dad, thanks for everything”.

Born in 1936 in Milan to a Sardinian father (from Villanova Monteleone ) and a Sicilian mother, he turned 86 on 30 March.

He had been a professor of constitutional law at the University of Milan, a constitutional judge since 1996 and president of the Council from September 2004 to January 2005.

Many messages of condolence arrived via social media.
