Farewell to Val Bisoglio. The actor, who had starred as John Travolta's father in "Saturday Night Fever," died at his California home at the age of 95.

Of Italian origin - his parents were from Alessandria - he had made his Broadway debut in plays, then the period of TV and cinema had arrived.

In the sixties he was Sergeant Sal Pernelli, cook of "MASH", and restaurateur Danny Tovo in the "Quincy" series, then he appeared in "Ironside", "Lieutenant Kojak", "Rockford Agency", and in the 2000s he was among the protagonists of “The Sopranos” playing Murphy "Murf" Lupo.

His most famous role remains that of Frank senior, father of Tony Manero (John Travolta).
