The world of literature mourns Maria Giacobbe, a writer of Sardinian origin who died at the age of 95.

Born in Nuoro in 1928, she had lived in Denmark, home of her husband Uffe Harder, also a writer, since the 1950s.

A few years ago, in the summer of 2019, right in Sardinia, one of his two sons, Andreas, was the victim of a tragic illness in Orosei .

His first novel, one of the best known, was “Diary of a teacher” (1957).

She also collaborated with L'Unione Sarda and in 2000 the director Giovanni Columbu made the film "Arcipelaghi" based on the novel of the same name for which, in 1995, the writer received the Dessì Speciale Award.
