Farewell to Ted Turner, founder of the American broadcaster CNN, who died at the age of 87. The announcement was made by the network itself, the first all-news network in history.

Turner, born in Ohio and nicknamed “The Mouth of the South” for his outspokenness, built a media empire , which had as its spearhead its 24-hour news television. Turner was also an internationally renowned sailor , CNN still recalls in its portrait of the historic founder.
