Grave mourning on Broadway for the death of Stephen Sondheim. The news came from his attorney, who spoke to the New York Times explaining that the artist had just celebrated Thanksgiving when he fell ill at his home in Roxbury, Connecticut.

Sondheim, 91, was the composer of such famous musicals as "West Side Story". He was considered one of the most important authors of the twentieth century, especially for his role in the development of the modern musical genre.

From his mind were born original soundtracks for films like "Dick Tracy", in '90, which earned him the Oscar for best song in 1991.
