The world of cinema mourns Ryan O'Neal.

The American actor, nominated for an Oscar for films such as "Love Story" and Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon", has died at the age of 82 in Los Angeles.

His son Patrick made it known, with a touching post on Instagram: «This is the hardest thing I've ever had to say, but here we are. My father died peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us."

The actor, who also had a relationship with Farrah Fawcett, was married from 1963 to 1967 to the actress Joanna Moore, with whom he had two children, the actors Griffin and Tatum O'Neal. After the divorce, he remarried with Leigh Taylor-Young, with whom he had his third son Patrick, who became a sports commentator.

In his long career in Hollywood he was also considered for the parts of Rocky Balboa in "Rocky" and Michael Corleone in "The Godfather".

In recent times, in 2006, he joined the cast of the American television series "Bones" in the role of the father of the protagonist Temperance Brennan. He also took part in some episodes of the TV series “Bevery Hills: 90210”.
