Mauro Di Francesco, a symbolic actor of Italian comedy in the 1980s, has died at the age of 74 .

"I fichissimi", "Sapore di mare 2", the two "Abbronzatissimi", "Attila flagello di Dio", "Il ras del quartiere" are some of the films in which he starred alongside big names in Italian comedy.

Di Francesco had been ill for some time and had been hospitalized in Rome for a month.

Born in Milan on May 17, 1951, he began his artistic career at a very young age, joining Giorgio Strehler's theatre company at the age of 15.

In the 1970s, he entered the world of cabaret and later joined the Gruppo Repellente, a company founded by Enzo Jannacci and Beppe Viola. He performed alongside actors such as Diego Abatantuono, Massimo Boldi, and Giorgio Faletti.

On TV he acted, among other things, in “I ragazzi della 3 C” . The last two films in which he took part in the 2000s are “Eccezziunale veramente – Capitolo Secondo me” (2006) and "Odissea nell'ospizio" by his friend Jerry Calà (2019).
